SRI RAMANA MAHARISHI

From Sampath’s Desk:

BHAGAWAN SRI RAMANA MAHARISHI

 (30 Dec.1879 - 14 April 1950)

‘Sri Ramanashram’ (Tiruvannamalai) is Your abode;

People throng there seeking Your immortal Divine presence to guide;

“One must realize his Self in order to open store of happiness unalloyed”;

These words of Yours stand guard!

An Advaita Vedanta Master, You were a Sage of a different kind;

In a world of ostentatious people hard to find;

Incarnation of ‘Gnana Sambandar’ You left a great spiritual legacy behind;

Your holy sermons are always there for us to mind!

An epitome of noble life, You had simple things to practice;

Away from the mundane You lived a life of seclusive and reclusive choice;

Thus opting for a unique ethereal rather than mundane existence;

That singled out You as one of the greatest saints of global acceptance!

You were a ‘Single Saint’ institution;

You had Your whole life and lifetime to give THE GOD as oblation;

That was what You thought as the route to salvation;

And one could not have opted for a better solution!

With Your grace around there is no frustration but only exultation;

And of course ‘all-win’ situation;

What other blessing one could have wished for than this spiritual exaltation?

Towards You devotees always have veneration, adulation and adoration!

Realization is not acquisition of anything but removal of the false veil;

That helps us keep at bay all that is evil;

Saving us from the devil;

And dovetailing our body, mind and soul well!

“Everything in the world is my master;

Sufferings turn people towards their creator;

Evildoing recoils on the doer sooner or later”;

These dictums of Yours make our understanding of life better and greater!

When malignancy started eating Your body, You had this to say;

“Why are you so attached to this body? After all, where can I go away?”

That moved devotees to tears and set them at bay and dismay;

Only to recover from shock and realize ‘HE would be around us always’!
