FORGETFUL, DON'T MIND MUCH!

 FROM SAMPATH’S DESK:

FORGETFUL, DON'T MIND MUCH!

Is forgetting a positive or negative factor? It’s a blend of both in a way, considered by most as negative but sometimes it is positive too depending on the given situation.

There are two types of forgetting. First, that happens on its own which is natural. The second one is that you do it deliberately.

There is a great saying, “Don’t forget to pray today, because God didn’t forget to wake you up this morning!”

Never forget kindness, but forget a slight and also the painful past so that you don’t carry ill will or enmity towards the perpetrator(s).

We feed our minds daily with knowledge, yet, at the same time, let’s not forget to feed our spirits with truth.

Forget trying to figure out what will bring you happiness. Simply make others happy; then happiness will find you on its own and gently caress and fondle you in recognition and with love.

Time makes us forget some people, but some others make us forget time. Never lose them.

We simply forget that the man who found out why the apple falls rather than flies, unbeknown to him, made it possible for us to go in airplanes safely and without any fear; because he did his work well to ensure our safety and security while flying.

Googleheimer’s - Do you know what it is? It is a combination of two words - Google and Alzheirmer’s - Sometimes when you sit down to do a Google search but suddenly forget what it was that you intended to look up or search for! As you sit in front of the computer, your mind goes blank. How funny the situation will be if it happens?

Friendship:

Is not how you forget;

But how you forgive;

Not how you listen;

But how you understand

Not what you see;

But how you feel;

And not how you let go;

But how you hold on!

APJ Abdul Kalam said, “Old friends are gold! New friends are diamonds! If you get a diamond, don't forget the gold! To hold a diamond, you always need a base of gold!”

Forgetting is not a 100% negative or positive thing. Never forget to forget what is to be forgotten; for it is neither fully forbidden nor a fault line. It is also not false, flimsy, failure, fake, forlorn, and/or fraudulent. Somehow, it is okay. Don’t read too much from it. It doesn’t have a feeble or fragile foundation to become frail. Inadvertent failures only fortify your discerning mindset of what to remember and what to forget. It is not too positive either like fantastic, fool-proof, flawless, fabulous, fair, favourable, feel-good, fortunate, and the like.

A shrewd person forgets the mistake but remembers the lessons. That is the way to go.

It is a pity that sometimes we tend to forget all too soon the things we thought we could never forget.

Well remember not to forget why and from where you started, and are heading. Make long-lasting memories you know you and others will never forget.

People may forget what you said and did, but will never forget how you made them feel.

To quote Confucius “I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.”

“Everything (conflict) is ended if you forgive and forget”, Swami Vivekananda said.

Sometimes, it is not the power to remember but the ability to forget the persons and/or matters that clinches the issue.

The funny part is that more often than not, people forget what they want to forget! Isn’t it?
