WHO CAN FORGET THESE?

 

 

The School/College studied;

 

The classrooms you navigated;

 

The house you lived in, according to your oldest memory;

 

The first cycle and the first ride thereon during schooldays;

 

The final day you spent in school/college;

 

The day you received an order of appointment for a job, the first day in your workplace, and your first salary;

 

The day you purchased a two-wheeler or four-wheeler, and the first travel in them;

 

The house you purchased and the first day of your residence there;

 

The date and day of your marriage;

 

The day and date your first child was born and that of other children;

 

Days and dates of the wedding of your sons/daughters;

 

The births of your grandchildren;

 

The last day in your workplace before retirement and the farewell party;

 

And so on and so forth!

 

The personal memory lane thus keeps on extending throughout.

FROM SAMPATH’S DESK:                 NETAJI SUBASH CHANDRA BOSE (23 January 1897-18 August 1945) PARAKRAM DIWAS - (DAY OF VALOUR)   Subash Chandra Bose was born on 23 rd January 1897 in Cuttack in the erstwhile Orissa Division of Bengal Province of the British India.   Though born into a large, wealthy, well-educated, and privileged Bengali family, the fire in him for the freedom of India was rather inextinguishable, and his thirst unquenchable. The British rulers jailed him in 1921-1922 because he took active interest in our national independence struggle. Again, on the one side, it is about feeling self-joy, and on the other, a solace-seeking exercise during trials and tribulations. Some tips have been attempted here.   If you happen to be rich in wealth and affluent, think that God has given you the extra wealth and money for helping others.   FROM SAMPATH’S DESK:         MY TRYST WITH SHORTHAND   A great salute/tribute to Sir Issac Pitman (4 January 1813 – 22 January 1897)   The necessity of writing words, phrases, sentences, and texts in shorthand was a long-felt one so that notes of speeches could be taken easily and presented quickly verbatim.   The history of shorthand or tachygraphy dates back to the ancient Greeks and perhaps even much earlier. The archaeological records show that stenographic symbols from Greece were discovered on the 'Acropolis Stone' (350 BCE). A marble slab found in Greece depicts a modified writing system that used not only vowels but also included certain modifications to denote consonants.  Taking clues and cues from this ancient work, some authors tried and founded their own versions of shorthand writing.
