CARA SPOSA
Oh, my dear better-half;
You’re my heart, soul and self;
You’ve a great deal of stuff;
None can win you in a tiff!
As my life partner, you are giving me your best;
I have had no negative experience to taste;
The clasp of our hearts redoubles our zest;
Confluence of our wavelengths keeps our spirits highest!
We share many thoughts in common;
Perhaps, you are more balanced in opinion;
Yet, we make to each other a matching pinion;
To pine for one another is genuine!
A teacher, you are sharp in your duty like a razor’s edge;
For self-centered hypocrites, you would never budge;
Towards others’ advancement, you have no grudge;
There could be nothing against you that could smudge.
Care and attention are your buzzword;
Clarity, agility, and ability are your watchword;
Enthusiasm with nimbleness is your foreword;
Experience-driven excellence is your stranglehold!
You are steadily on the move like a clock;
Ready to overcome any path-block;
For an ideal principle, you would stand like a solid rock;
On the right pathway, there is no looking back!
She is as brisk as a busy bee;
Her heart is as big as a sea;
She has a craving and loving heart which I can see;
Her characteristic child-like musings keep me in glee!
She is as light and brittle as a feather;
Still, tougher as leather;
Given the ingenuity, for any problem she finds a breather;
That doesn’t make me needlessly bother!
She is as radiant as the Rose;
Rich in source;
With perennial resource;
Always right on discourse!
Strong and sturdy as steel;
I had her heart to steal;
She had many heights to scale;
Which, she has done in her inimitable style!
She is good as gold;
Her brain is always sharp and thought process lucid;
She has value additions for my knowledge to build;
That gets my self-confidence redoubled!
Intelligent to the core;
Brilliant to the fore;
Amazing knowledge in store;
Repository of patience I have never seen before!
Busy and flowing as a brook;
The efforts she always took;
Made her remain in students’ good book;
An excellent knowledge guide they seek!
Her experience is rich;
With nobody she has any hitch;
She has appropriate ideals to teach;
And has obviously carved a niche!
She is the foundation and pillar of my hope;
Hard to get a life-partner of her type;
She has overcome many a slope;
I am not doing any superficial hype!
She is bright as the break of day;
Enabling me to make hay;
Keeps all her detractors at bay;
In her profession, she has a strong say and sway!
She has deep insight;
I envy her real foresight;
All that she has done to everyone’s delight;
Have helped me do things right!
Her thoughts are as free as mountain winds;
Perfection is what she always minds;
With skills and talents of different kinds;
She is very dear to her students and friends!
It is said that teaching is learning twice over;
She ceases to learn never;
To me, she is a fragrant flower;
In her midst, my morale would never lower!
She is easy as a poet’s dream;
I find in her talent cream;
Keen to remain updated in every stream;
Always happy to be in the mainstream!
Life consists of many a twist and turn;
They can’t bog us down;
And get our morale torn;
We ward them off with scorn!
She is always ready to toil;
Mindless of pains does it entail;
I can’t see her fail;
With she around, I only have a safe-sail!

ReplyDeletePraise is an essential ingredient to a healthy, happy marriage. Building one another up on a daily basis is a surefire way to bring sanity into and build joy of matrimony. And, if one can explore, identify, and implement the ways to synergize even finer aspects of the spouse’s emotional and psychological curve, establishing and maintaining perfect sync should be quite possible.
One can't fathom the bliss of such a joyful state unless he or she is so much lost in love and affection to lose sense of everything else around.
Yes, it is the good mutual trust and understanding coupled with the other allied traits of you both that keep the wheels of matri-life moving smoothly. With confidence I can state that you have praised each other and fed positive energy into your married life.
You have shown your immense ability to think clearly and understand what is not obvious, or simple to analyse by being a keen observer. Perhaps you were perceptive, attentive, heedful, mindful, and aware of everything she did to accomplish her role as a Teacher in order for you to devote a few paras on this.
Probably, she is “a poet’s dream” (of course the poet is you). Hence you were able to write such a Classic Poem in honor of your better-half, Madam Jayanthi Sampath.
