DARING TO BE DIFFERENT!
DARING TO BE DIFFERENT!
What makes some great; because
they dare to be different from mediocrity and do things too differently, yet
amazingly and astoundingly with perfect
precision and marked success with tangible and extraordinary results!
They venture into where others are hesitant, shunning the lackluster and humdrum
pursuits. Such people date with daring acts doing what others wouldn’t even think of and try! They
are adventurous too, living on the edge and pushing the envelope with pristine and exceptional effort to accomplish any tasks, even stupendous ones. They are outstanding ones, who, unlike the most
that manage to meander through the mundane life with hardly anything special to
show. This mighty lot avoids being ordinary, run-of-the-mill, banal and
lackluster, carving a unique niche for themselves in whichever field they step
into. Thinking innovatively
and acting differently, they daringly translate their thoughts into positive actions
with fruitful results however hard they might be. Bouncing back to
greater heights after hitting the rock-bottom and re-emerging like the Greek
mythological ‘Phoenix’ from the ashes also make such people great. Sri Satya
Saibaba would say, “Helping hands are holier than praying lips.” Yes, a great
deal of selfless service makes the doer great true to the adage “Bare words buy
no barley, but a deed in need does it!”
A boy known to me was too
confused when he was offered an unpopular stream in his engineering course by a
particular college, which institution he considered the best choice to study in. However,
he dared to take the challenge what others called a ‘risk’ and specialized in
that subject. Excelling in it he got a good placement in the campus interview -
a dividend for his daring quality and characteristic perseverance to succeed and shine. More than that, he claimed to have the
fullest job satisfaction in that position. Sometimes, people like a job with high job satisfaction quotient in a peaceful and congenial work environment than even the
traditional Vitamin ‘M’!
Again, a son of a friend
of mine average at studies boldly decided to join the Army one day when an opportunity
came his way, taking his parents aback. He took it as a pride challenge and
joined the Army asserting that instead of settling in a mediocre and lacklustre
job elsewhere he could find excitement and thrill being part of our Defence
establishment despite having to work in inhospitable territories and hostile
climatic conditions in our borders, sometimes even in freezing cold! Whenever
he visited his native place in Tamil Nadu he is given a hero and red carpet
welcome; rightly so!
Smooth roads make no good drivers,
smooth seas make no good sailors and clear sky makes no good pilots. Challenge
and problem-free life will not produce a hero. Wise sayings indeed! Aren’t
they?
