Origin:  Latin (meaning ‘among other things’)

 

You can use ‘inter alia’ when you want to say that there are other things / names involved apart from the one you are mentioning.

 

The term is commonly used in legal writing to mean ‘among other things’.

 

Example sentences:

 

The paper discussed, inter alia, political, economic and social issues.

 

The Committee recommended, inter alia, the promotion of ‘X’.

 

The teacher wore, inter alia, many hats including guide, counselor and nurse.
