MY MOTHER - R VIJAYA
MY MOTHER (R VIJAYA)
My dear Mother, it
was because of you I am here on this Earth;
I can well feel the
pangs you would have undergone to give me birth;
That ensured for me
in this world a life berth;
It was a boon
conferred on me of great worth!
While a child is
born, every mother is re-born;
You might have had
many ordeals to be borne;
For the sake of your
children you had only thorns to adorn;
But on principles
you were always stubborn!
Motherhood is not an
unmixed blessing;
You had to give the
foetus ten months long nursing;
After my birth your
responsibility was only increasing;
To bring me up with
each day passing!
You daily taught me
something;
So that I could live
up to anything;
Emboldening and
enabling me to gain more knowledge and take on everything;
Sparing virtually
nothing!
You were my
philosopher and guide;
But you never missed
to chide;
Whenever I went
astray and drifted aside;
To usher me into
perfect mould and on the right life ride!
For me, you were a
God’s manifestation;
You were the one to
lay for me a strong foundation;
To get me the
correct life orientation;
You were my pillar
of strength beyond limitation!
If God has decided
to do something good for you none could stop;
Once in His good
books nothing could flop;
These inspiring
words of you were my hope;
Without plunging me
into any slush or slope!
In me you were
throughout making value addition;
Evil ideas and
pessimism obviously suffered subtraction;
With you around
there was only morale multiplication;
There was absolutely
no scope for division!
Your support of
sorts was of immense and intense magnitude;
That transported me
to a high altitude;
All because you created in me an apt and
positive attitude;
All of which gave me
the much-needed fortitude!
Many of my
accomplishments were due to your blessing;
Nothing worth could
have been achieved by me without your silent gracing;
The discipline you
taught still continues in me uncompromising;
Your mantra
‘progress through hard work’ has been most promising!
During your lifetime
we would have even pretended ignorance of your value;
Yes, it was because
of our love and affection towards you being true;
And taking you for
granted all the time without any rue;
For we had all the liberty
with you!
Mother can take any
role but none can take her place;
You taught me some
tough lessons;
You were like a
fruit of all seasons;
What to say, you
were beyond comparison!
You were a walking
miracle;
Made my stars be at
the pinnacle;
Warding off many an
obstacle;
To make my life a
full circle!
You were my mother
and ‘natural, first, best and forever friend’;
And remained so up
to the end;
Towards me, you
always had a ‘never-say-no’ mind;
Alas, when and where I could find you hereafter in this world?

ReplyDeleteWonderful Poem on Your Mother.
You write with such elegance. To me it appears it is a natural ability, though I know I am far from the truth. Please continue writing poetry. You have great talent and your words not only touch me, but surely all who have read it. It’s such a Divine poem with loving and caring words. So many emotions have surfaced proving that you are truly gifted. Awesome Tribute to Your Mother!
Your poetry is written in a way that I can “hear”, “feel”, “see” and “taste” in general and several emotions like the following in particular:-
Her "pain", in your words “pangs of birth”;
Her "sufferings" in your words “ordeals to be borne”; “thorns to adorn” ;
We can “feel” the intense love and respect and regards you had for her in your words/phrases – “you were my philosopher and guide”; “with you around there was only morale multiplication”;
We could “see” your repentance in your words, “pretended ignorance”, “we had liberty”; and
We could “taste” the pain in your heart and soul in the last line, “Alas, when and where I could find you hereafter in this world?”
What I liked most was this para. Truly inspiring.
“If God has decided to do something good for you none could stop;
Once in His good books nothing could flop;
These inspiring words of you were my hope;
Without plunging me into any slush or slope!”.
Your Poem on Your Mother is powerful, personal and unreserved, the emotion and passion would definitely be felt by any one who reads this poem.
It was tough for me to write this because all along I would start thinking of My Mother and end up crying without formally reducing my emotions into writing though one can never think or talk enough of their mother. I only dedicate and endorse your poetic piece to my Mother.
On the lighter side, don’t my comments seem like a school girl writing some summary? It’s so much fun to relive your school days today when it was not so back then.
Respects and Regards to your Mother and all Mothers.
May your Mother keep blessing you and your loved ones!
