Meaning:

 

To feel offended, annoyed, hurt or upset by something, often without a good reason and/or usually misunderstanding what somebody has said - also because you feel that someone was rude and/or has shown disrespect or discourtesy to you

He was affectionately and reverently called VARIYAR SWAMIGAL by people.   He had no formal education.
