Meaning:
If you tell someone to look to
their laurels, you ask them to think and act seriously/differently and work hard to continue to be successful over others against all odds and not to give up or start failing - looking to your laurels means to make extra
efforts to succeed even amid more and cut-throat competition – protect
one’s pre-eminent reputation or position especially against a threat of being
surpassed or overwhelmed by competition or competitors – be careful not to lose your superior status/position to
a rival.
