LIVE LIFE LIVELY
From Sampath's Desk:
LIVE LIFE LIVELY
The purpose of life is to live a life of purpose. There
should be a mission along with a vision in one’s life; if not, create one and work
for its realization. Let it be a good one, if not the
noblest.
Light is optimism. Darkness is pessimism. When you are in light, you can follow everything and be followed. But
in darkness, even your own shadow will deceive and abandon you. That is the stark reality of life!
Look through glasses of optimism to see a world full of potentials and
possibilities. It all depends on the positively discerning mind.
Anger is 'd-anger'. A minute of anger divests one of 60 joyful seconds
of his/her precious life. So, don't entertain anger. For slips are not sins. Forgive and forget.
Only human-beings are endowed with what is called the 6th sense including equanimity, compassion, discernment, and discretion, among others. These human-specific characteristics make one’s life more meaningful and effective in the service of others. Let
charity and kindness guide us in both word and deed in dealing with our human brethren.
The most powerful force in life is love while the worst
thing to be without is hope. Again, while the greatest joy lies in
giving, the most satisfying work is perhaps helping others. Sri Satya Saibaba
said, “Helping hands are holier than the praying lips.”
Things can be bought with the money you have, but happiness
can only be felt and found within.
Love is magical. It is a language the hearing impaired can
hear, a song the physically challenged and differently-abled can dance to, and
the light the visually challenged can see.
Nature-gazing and living in communion with nature possibly trigger new and constructive ideas of sorts, and if used in the right contexts, they would yield positive thoughts, acts, and results.
A raindrop or waterdrop falling in a pond or lake immediately loses its identity and gets lost in the water in a flash, but the drop falling and resting on a lotus or any other flower(s) or petal(s) shines like a diamond, for a short span though. The right destination and the right medium make all the difference.
A stone simply dropped or thrown into a water body - say a pond, lake, rivulet, river, or any other watercourse will meekly sink whereas throwing a flat stone across the water in such a way that it bounces off the water surface like in the game of ‘ducks and drakes’ (otherwise called 'stone skipping' or 'stone skimming') will make the stone do several skips over the water surface before it finally sinks into the water. The water surface will thus see the stone taking a few leaps before the final submerge. The moral is - the effect depends upon the cause, the ways and means, the drive, direction, and force of the action.
Kind words are like a seat in an A/C
coach. Maybe, you can reach your destination even without A/C, but it adds
comfort to the journey.
It is not always what you say that makes the difference;
sometimes it is where, why and how you say it? Be discreet!
A person worried for not having shoes but stopped worrying
when he saw a man without a leg. Life is
a blend of plusses and minuses, blessings and deficiencies. It makes sense
to feel satisfied with what you have.
Two maxims make sense - Don’t believe
the doubted, and don’t doubt the believed.
Happiness in life is like a butterfly.
If you chase, it runs away. So, don’t try to chase it. You just live well in
thought, faith and deed; it will come and sit on you on its own. A butterfly
lives only for a few days. But still, it flies joyfully throughout capturing many hearts.
Each moment in life is indeed precious. Live it fully.
Life is also cotton-like. Don’t make it heavier by dipping
it in the water called ‘sorrow’ but make it lighter by letting it blow in the
air of joy.
Life is a continuous learning process, womb to tomb.
Understand, retain, remember, and practice the lessons as meaningfully and
gainfully as you can. Your day is as good as you make it. There is always
something you can be thankful for. Be thankful and contented!
Clear water, plain glass, crystal,
sugar-candy, and alum, though possessing a common ‘see-through’ feature, have,
in fact, different properties and qualities. Beware!

A food for thought articles. Yes v can ponder over some of the finer points. The purpose of life is live happily. Happiness is a crazy arithmetic, it multiplies when you divide it.
ReplyDeleteIn Tamil we use to say “ பிறரை மகிழ்வித்து மகிழ்”.
Another point “kindness”.
இனிய உளவாக இன்னாத கூறல் கனியிருப்ப காய் கவர்ந்தற்று”.
Regarding prayer “ helping hands are better than praying lips” is very apt.
