PARADIGM:

 

Origin: Greek – verb – meaning ‘to show’

 

Pronunciation:  para-daim (‘para’ as in ‘paradise’, ‘daim’ as in ‘crime’)  பேர-(d)டைம்

 

Meaning:

 

An example, sample, parameter – a typical model or pattern of something – a set of forms all of which contain particular elements – a framework that contains some basic assumptions, ways of thinking, and methodology – a cognitive framework and/or its constituents -

Meaning:

 

Belief in or acceptance of something as true – mental acceptance of something as correct or real – credible and/or credibility – believing it as  plausible, possible and/or feasible -

I am not prepared to give CREDENCE to anonymous complaints.

 

His bruises lent and added CREDENCE to his statement that he had been beaten.
