The state of having the intellect impaired especially through old age, senility, and folly – second childhood with memory impairment - a period of advanced age in which an individual starts to lose his memory and judgment and his ability to perform cognitive tasks - the period of life in which a person is old and week marked by decline of mental poise and alertness characterized by moderate memory loss - a period of decreased mental functioning especially as a result of old age
