POWER

 

(A word-POWER-building exercise)

 

POWER is the most POWERFUL term. POWER is what the POWER does. POWER is both a magic wand and double-edged sword. POWER helps EMPOWER others. Use your POWER to make others POWERFUL and not POWERLESS.

 

POWER should be used for POWERING a POWERFUL greater tomorrow. Proper use of our huge MANPOWER is key to EMPOWERMENT of the masses, especially the POWERLESS. POWER-DRIVEN VALUE and VALUE-DRIVEN POWER are complementary to each other. Youth should improve their MIND-POWER to make India a well-POWERED intellect and knowledge POWERHOUSE and eventually one of the SUPER BRAINS and SUPERPOWERS of the world. Your MIND-POWER and WORD-POWER represent your mighty tongue and pen. If you OVERPOWER others, it is not POWER but a sin. Words are sharper and more POWERFUL than the knife. While the two MOST POWERFUL FORCES are ‘love and affection’, the two MOST POWER-FILLED POSITIVE WORDS are “I can.” Burnish your MIND POWER and WISDOM POWER instead of the knife.

 

The POWERFUL associate with the POWERFUL like the sandal paste perfectly mixes with the camphor. Ideas are POWERFUL basic instrument to constructive actions. Knowledge gives you POWER; but mere POWER doesn’t and can’t automatically ensure knowledge. Hence the need for knowledge and empathy-driven POWER.

 

Intellectual POWERS churn out a POWERFUL TOMORROW. Information and Communication Technology is the most POWERFUL tool for all-round growth and development of a nation.

 

 

Nowadays, it is difficult to see an unassuming person in POWER. Even petty officials, dressed in brief authority, are strutting about with airs, vaunting superficialities, and kowtowing to the political class in POWER, totally unresponsive to the problems around them, except those of their own personal concern.

 

 

Skilled, unskilled, and creative MANPOWER could be transformed into ‘Wealth generators’.

 

 

On the flip side, it is unfortunate that MONEY-POWER and MUSCLE-POWER rule the roost in today’s politics, thanks to the POWERFUL POWER-CENTRES and POWER LOBBYING. Still worse is usurping others’ POWERS to make them EMPOWERMENT-STARVED. In the hands of wrong persons, POWER follows wealth, and wealth seeks to earn more POWER in wrong ways with a chain and churning effect and in an endless spiral.

 

We have to change our ‘mechanically functioning society’ into a ‘KNOWLEDGE-POWERED SOCIETY’ to make India a SUPERPOWER, sooner than later.

  FROM SAMPATH’S DESK:       THIRUMURUGA KRIPANANDA VARIYAR திருமுருக கிருபானந்த வாரியார் (25 August 1906 - 7 November 1993)   THIRUMURUGA KRIPANANDA VARIYAR was born on 25.8.1906 in Kangeyanallur near Vellore, Tamil Nadu.   He sowed divinity in the minds of the common man and words contemplated upon were humorously conveyed by him so as to grip the minds of his audience. He was affectionately and reverently called VARIYAR SWAMIGAL by people.   He had no formal education.
