SRI PUTTAPARTHI SATYA SAIBABA
From Sampath’s Desk:
SRI PUTTAPARTHI
SATYA SAIBABA
(23 November 1926 - 24 April 2011)
SRI PUTTAPARTHI SATYA SAIBABA was a
great saint-philosopher, spiritualist, philanthropist, Good Samaritan and above
all, a living legend. A Living God to millions of devotees in India and abroad,
he was the epitome of simple living with a heart full of compassion, sympathy
and empathy for the humankind. The ‘Jyoti’ he lighted in Puttaparthi still
continues to pervade through all over and remains a guiding force.
His various charitable, educational,
healthcare and other institutions stand testimony to his concerns for human
welfare. God took Him back to His abode on 24.4.2011. However, despite his
bodily absence, the fragrance of his spiritualty-soaked words and noble deeds in
succour of the needy still linger on to be cherished by millions of discerning
minds.
Setvice to man is service to GOD. You can’t live forever but can create something that will. True to this, he had created many, the benefits of which still flow.
His words, “Love All, Serve All. Help
Ever, Hurt Never’ summed up what he thought and did!
His offer of financial help to the drinking water needs of Chennai City is just
another pointer of his care for humanity.
