BUTTERFLY

 FROM SAMPATH’S DESK:

BUTTERFLY

(Order Lepidoptera - Suborder Rhopalocera)

Oh, my dear butterfly;

We are amazed and amused at your beauty and fly;

What else is there for us to apply -

In our minds other than your lifestyle!

They say, the butterfly is a cherubic incarnation;

But it is not without any reason or explanation;

Flowering plants are linked to its evolution (3 weeks);

From an egg to a caterpillar, chrysalis, and then the ultimate transformation!

Feeding on vegetation with an almost liquid diet;

You taste your food with your feet!

With your wings that are transparent;

You live a life that is positive and absolute!

Butterflies teach us lessons - nothing comes of nothing;

If its stages of gestation to full-fledged form are anything;

One needs to work hard to gain something;

Industriousness and perseverance mean everything!

You're gifted with wings of mind-blowing mélange of colours and designs in infinitude;

High-altitude flying is not your avowed attitude;

Always remaining brisk is your aptitude

You mostly stay close to the ground for food!

Butterflies share their experiences for us to practice;

With great patience and sincere hard work come rewards;

Without change, nothing beautiful happens;

Be light and free, and acquiescently float from each open door to the next;

In pursuit of greener pastures;

Be spontaneous, move with confidence, and seize new opportunities;

Live in and enjoy the present moment;

And, last but not the least, one who loves Nature is never alone!

  1. "A poem begins with delight and ends in wisdom " .... Robert Frost.
    Your beautiful poem reminds me of this line.
    The last line was really beautiful.
    I particularly liked the last line because today in Bhagavada Puranam upanyasam Guru Shri Sundar Kumar was telling a part where 24 Gurus inspired a Rishi. One of them was Honey bee. Well I think even Butterfly is another Guru.
    Thanks
