FATHER (DAD)
FROM SAMPATH’S DESK:
FATHER’S
DAY
(Celebrated
on the third Sunday of June in most countries)
Father
being instrumental to creation is God in disguise;
He
doesn’t need any superficial guise;
To make your life safely cruise;
Without
getting any bruise!
While mother emotionally erupts like a live volcano, father
is a silent visionary;
For your sake, he will, at times, be a revolutionary;
He is your life dictionary and lifestyle
missionary;
He is the fulcrum of the evolutionary ladder, exemplary, and extraordinary!
While mother wants you to be trim in broad daylight, father can see if you bungle or blunder even
in the pitched darkness;
There
lies his greatness;
And,
swiftness along with tactfulness is his business;
Assuring
and ensuring his trustworthiness!
Even
a poor dad can leave his children the richest inheritance;
No one needs to over-emphasize father’s importance;
If you have intellectual substance;
None can dare to question your wise stance!
Even in a blackout, he finds and paves the way;
Not allowing you to drift away;
Yes, he is your life’s expressway;
It’s better and beneficial to be under his benevolent sway!
Every dad is a father, but not every father is necessarily a dad;
Yes, we, your children, call you dad;
To our whole family, you are the world;
We just can’t afford to skip your word!
While the mother may be tender;
The father will be a thunder;
Giving no scope to flounder;
You are the fender of our life wheel and defender to whom I
surrender!

Father's Day
ReplyDeleteLike many people, I also used to think, "Why Father's Day?" - just a single day - when throughout his lifetime, he strives hard for the family and in fact, we should honour and thank him daily! But, the traditional practice and formality obtaining throughout the world pitches in, which we are supposed to follow. Thus comes a designated day for our dear parents - Mother’s Day and Father’s Day - which day we dedicate to them to celebrate if they are alive, or cherish their memories if they are no more with a resolve to uphold all the principles and values they taught us and themelves stood for.
It's so nice Sampath ji that you have written a beautiful poem today. Often times I have wondered why people only talk about a Mother's sacrifices whereas a father as a multi-dimensional head of the family has, several times, sacrificed more and shed silent tears which none can deny.
As you rightly say, "Father is God in disguise." In a short and sweet poem, you have ensured none of his qualities are left out.
The most touching line, "Even in a blackout, he finds and paves the way." People of our age and above had seen, experienced, and even were scared of those "blackout" days. But there was the dear dad to protect us.
Like it’s often said, “to the world he may be one person, but to his children, he's the world."
Enjoyed your poem! Took a long time to write because I could’nt control my tears thinking of my dad and my children who have lost their dad.
But memories will always be there.
Happy Father's Day
