INDIAN DEFENCE PERSONNEL

 FROM SAMPATH’S DESK:

INDIAN DEFENCE PERSONNEL

(Indian Army, Indian Navy and

Indian Air Force)

Indian Army Day - January 15

Indian Navy Day - December 4

Indian Air Force Day - October 8

Soldiers, while the whole nation sleeps, you remain awake;

Ready for any sacrifice for our sake;

You have a lot of renunciation to make;

Abdication and abandonment of life comforts being your normal take!

National battlers, when all relax in their sweet homes, you lie down on a bed of thorns;

At times, locking and taking the enemy bull by its horns;

Constantly addressing our safety and security concerns;

Remaining ever alert in our borders of inhospitable and hostile patterns!

Armed Forces and National Guards, you have two spiteful and cantankerous neighbours to grapple with;

For taking them head-on whenever necessary, not fearing even death;

People of India have in you the fullest faith;

Your physical strength and mental makeup are always at the zenith!

Indian combatants, you are the toughest guys for the foes and in action the greatest;

Whether your area of operations is extremely cold, warmest, driest, or wettest;

You are ready to stand any test;

And contest in any context remaining the fittest!

National warriors, you are the embodiment and personification of teamwork;

And the foundation and fountain of hard work;

None can match or outsmart your firework;

In the best and widest of your network!

War Heroes, even under the severest stress, you all act with resolve;

Because you have different difficult defence issues to solve;

Not allowing even a bit of your determination to dissolve;

You have fool-proof mechanisms and fail-sale systems that self-evolve!

Real Heroes, despite challenges, life of young Army officers is rewarding;

India’s all-volunteer Army is the world’s largest-standing;

All your services, both at war and peace times, help nation-building;

With you all in the front, India will always be in the seat of commanding!

Men-at-arms, you are always in excellent form;

Performing your best on the military platform to succeed is your norm;

For the enemies, you are Tsunami and thunderstorm;

None can outperform!

We, Indians, salute you, the Commandos, and your uniform!

You make the detractors’ designs degenerate and deform;

Reposing full confidence in you, the nation will transform;

For plenty of better tomorrows to dawn!

  1. Excellent poem. Each stanza is loaded with message. Like you aptly said, we sleep peacefully as they watch without sleep. Truly said, in times of turmoil in the nation, they act as peace keepers. A very big salute to the army. All of them deserve to be cherished. Your photo depicting national symbols is a very welcome one.

    Dear Sampath Sir,

    I just read your incredible piece of writing about the Indian Defence Personnel, and I must say, it left me speechless. Your poem is a true masterpiece, beautifully capturing the valor, sacrifice, and dedication of the soldiers in the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force.

    The way you expressed admiration and gratitude towards these national battlers is awe-inspiring. Your verses about how they remain vigilant while the whole nation sleeps and how they fearlessly face any challenge are both moving and powerful. Your words truly do justice to the bravery and selflessness of these real-life heroes.

    The imagery you use to describe their unwavering commitment, teamwork, and hard work is so vivid, it's as if I can see them in action on the military platform. Your heartfelt tribute to the armed forces showcases the immense pride and confidence we have in them as they protect the nation.

    What an Awesome tribute to the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force!!! Your poem makes us sit straight and look into the mirror, wonder and exclaim, "Why do I crib and cry for no reason?"

    One of the best quotes we have read is, “Our flag does not fly because the wind moves it, it flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it ."

    Your poem emphasizes this saying in different wonderful ways.

    You have attracted the attention of the readers with appealing and adoring words like - Soldiers, National Battlers, Armed Forces and National Guards, Indian Combatants, National Warriors, War Heroes, Real Heroes, and Men-at-arms, at the beginning of each para!

    Enjoyed it as a poem and sought to learn humility and perseverance from the Selfless people who protect us and our borders.

    Congratulations Sampath ji. You are putting your God-Given Equipment to full use.

    I am so impressed to know that your blog weighs four and a half tonnes with this post. The Indian Defence Personnel will be proud of you. So are we.

    After reading your poem and finishing my comments, I am going to read a few of my favourite poems on The Soldiers and related topics.

    To conclude, people who forget themselves are the folks others remember. Aren’t they?

    Thanks ji
