BOOKS
 
A good book is a knowledge feeder;
Besides being self-confidence builder;
Moral education books are conduct and
character moulder;
Readying reader to be a path-finder;
Proving to be an excellent life guider!
 
 
History books bridge the generation gap;
Making distant past events to unwrap;
With many information resources to tap;
Facilitating one to draw life road-map;
Right books enable intellectual inputs
to fall on your lap!
 
 
Book reading being an entertainment;
Adds up to your enjoyment;
Wisdom upgradation is empowerment;
Apart from giving encouragement and 
enhancement;
Of a perennial learning experience 
environment!
 

On the flip side, keep yellow press and
junk books away;
For they will corrupt  your mind 
straightaway;
Will take you to wrong paths and
abandon there midway;
From where you can never withdraw 
and have a walkaway;
Avoid them anyway!
 
Last but not the least, a book is a pastime
and travel companion!

    Wonderful poem. Each line is loaded with meaning and wonderfully crafted. Yes, books are our friends indeed. They take you all over and give you glimpses of people, culture, vibrant nature, besides giving knowledge of language. Each author will write using the nuances of the language used in that particular place. Book is indeed a very good companion.

    Excellent article on Book reading. Books are very good companions especially when you travel in train. I used to read while I travel.

  FROM SAMPATH’S DESK:       THIRUMURUGA KRIPANANDA VARIYAR திருமுருக கிருபானந்த வாரியார் (25 August 1906 - 7 November 1993)   THIRUMURUGA KRIPANANDA VARIYAR was born on 25.8.1906 in Kangeyanallur near Vellore, Tamil Nadu.   He sowed divinity in the minds of the common man and words contemplated upon were humorously conveyed by him so as to grip the minds of his audience. He was affectionately and reverently called VARIYAR SWAMIGAL by people.   He had no formal education. However, he was brought up by his father himself at home giving him core divine knowledge and wisdom. Swamigal learned Tamil literature, grammar, and music, especially playing Veena. At age 8 itself, he had to his credit many poems in ‘Venba’ style.
