A TRUE FRIEND

 

You don't get a true friend just for the asking;

He/she is one who rushes, in your difficult times, to your doorstep knocking;

A true friend is not one who is self-serving and self-seeking;

But is one to help you send your problems away packing!

 


A true friend will be there with you at all times of your need;

As you both had sown and perfectly nurtured the friendship seed;

He/she will not rest without converting the promised word into deed;

As the duo can always read each other’s mind and heed!

 


True friends always strive and achieve a win-win;

They can be separated by none;

Not even by geographical distances nor by any difference(s) of opinion;

Irrespective of locations, they will never miss to join;

And work together even in pain, and gain!

 


True friends never jump the friendship ship;

They never use any whip;

They sail in the same boat - actually and virtually - come what may - without stop;

Such a friendship is, in fact, better than kinship!

  FROM SAMPATH’S DESK:       THIRUMURUGA KRIPANANDA VARIYAR திருமுருக கிருபானந்த வாரியார் (25 August 1906 - 7 November 1993)   THIRUMURUGA KRIPANANDA VARIYAR was born on 25.8.1906 in Kangeyanallur near Vellore, Tamil Nadu.   He sowed divinity in the minds of the common man and words contemplated upon were humorously conveyed by him so as to grip the minds of his audience. He was affectionately and reverently called VARIYAR SWAMIGAL by people.   He had no formal education. However, he was brought up by his father himself at home giving him core divine knowledge and wisdom. Swamigal learned Tamil literature, grammar, and music, especially playing Veena. At age 8 itself, he had to his credit many poems in ‘Venba’ style.
