மழைப்பொழிவு – RAINFALL/PRECIPITATION

 

 

 

மழையின் போது வானவில் ஒரு தோரணம்;

 

மழைப்பொழிவு விண்ணுக்கும் மண்ணுக்குமேயான தோரணம்!

 

மேகமும் காற்றும் சேர்ந்து நமக்கு அளிக்கும் சீதனம்;

 

மனித வாழ்க்கைக்கு அதுவே ஒரு சிறந்த சாதனம்!

 

 

 

 

During the rain, the rainbow hangs as a festive festoon;

 

The downpour itself is a grand festoon, uniting the earth and sky in tune!

 

Together, the clouds and winds grant us this dowry so grand;

 

For human life to thrive, it is the greatest tool in the land!

 

 

 

 

 

 

மழை இயற்கையின் வரப்பிரசாதம்;

 

'நீரின்றி அமையாது உலகு' என்பது வள்ளுவரின் கூற்று;

 

அதற்கு வேண்டுமா சான்று?

 

அதனால், அந்த இயற்கை கொடையை நாம் முழுமனதோடு வரவேற்போம், கொண்டாடுவோம்!

 

 

 

 

 

Rain is nature’s boon so grand,

 

Life without water cannot stand.

 

As Valluvar said, the truth is clear,

 

No further proof is needed here.

 

So let’s welcome and celebrate that gift of nature with all our hearts!

If not, the hooting of milk cookers and/or rice cookers in the neighbourhood would surely do the job. As is the typical characteristic and norm with any machine-like city life, a day began for me amidst the hustle and bustle all around! Ululations of milk, vegetables, and other vendors (nowadays pre-recorded call-outs blare on a loudspeaker),  etc. would herald the beginning of the race with the time, which is what the urban milieus in Chennai, the place of my residence and office were all about.
